Progress in Practice
June 4th, 2016
A + D Museum - Los Angeles
Embracing the theme of the Museum's show "Come in" I wanted to explore the art of practicing. I invited a couple of artists to use the museum's gallery space as just another rehearsal space to allow us to peek into their process.
These are not performances, they are unrehearsed and have no particular order or relationship to each other except that each artist has been chosen to reveal their process of creating art that is music or movement based. The audience is invited inside the artistic process and to enjoy the journey toward a finished piece. Their "happening" times may overlap, there is no introduction, finale or stage. In addition, each piece was matched with a signature scent and refreshments provided, engaging visitors to experience the transformed space with all five senses.
